About this deal

And given that the visual space is a uniquely fantastical (and somewhat outrageous) environment, that is a truly impressive achievement. But will he be able to stop the greedy corporations and their over-eager military attachment from proceeding with a full-on invasion? review how that film may have outstayed its running time welcome, though I personally found it a rather brisk viewing experience. Sitting through them all almost seems like watching a movie in itself, and it’s a shame because it takes a while before we get anything really interesting. To the best of my ability to tell based on currently-available information, the following features are exclusive to the Blu-ray release and not found on the DVD edition.

This realization caused a minor freakout in some internet quarters, among people who assume that bit rate is the only factor important to determining video quality.

For more about Avatar and the Avatar Blu-ray release, see Avatar Blu-ray Review published by Casey Broadwater on April 22, 2010 where this Blu-ray release scored 4.

It’s a blunt and grating approach to passing social commentary on the US and its ‘ Team America’-style approach to policing the world, and, this somewhat pretentious preaching, coupled with the Braveheart-styled clichéd dialogue and ‘rousing’ speeches did not work on any level. Attempts to stream the features on my OPPO BDP83 Blu-ray player invariably caused the player to crash. Most of the rest of the additions come in the form of added story arcs, rather than stand-alone scenes.Pandora, the lush and vibrant alien planet, is brought to life with such meticulous detail that every frame feels like a mesmerizing work of art. It takes you on a James Cameron-led voyage through the entire production, from inception through to the completion of the work in post. Still, the distinct lack of extras, and the 2D limitations, together with numerous press releases from Cameron himself, led me to believe that this was double, probably triple-dip territory, and that not only were we likely to get an eventual 3D release, but also a 2D special edition, and then, possibly a 3D special edition some way further down the line to tie in with the inevitable sequels.

Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine, is dispatched to join the outreach program, ostensibly to help them with their work, but with the secret agenda of getting an inside look at their camp so that the military attack can be more decisive. Honestly, it was clearly an example of the ‘next step’ in CG use, the potential being that actors could continue to play (sometimes considerably) younger characters well into the twilight era of their careers. It’s been a long time since the first film came out, but it looks like the Avatar The Way of Water UK DVD, Blu-ray and digital release date is going to be one of the biggest in 2023. However, if you are a fan, you may appreciate the opportunity to spend a little extra time on Pandora more than I did.

If the bit rate was already maximized for the theatrical length, wouldn't that mean that a longer version has to suffer a lower bit rate? But few will listen to me – Avatar is such an unstoppable juggernaut that its fans and followers will want any edition that comes out.

That’s a bit much to ask for, and really, between the main Documentary, and the plethora of Deleted Scenes, there’s nothing else you really need with this extensive package.
